On July 26, 2025, the sixth session of the Siyuan Law Friends Talk organized by the Beijing Alumni Association of Shanghai Jiao Tong University was successfully held at Gaopeng Law Firm. Nearly 40 cross disciplinary alumni gathered together to discuss the forefront of law.

The event began with Ji Wenhua, a 1998 alumnus of Kaiyuan Law School at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, a professor and doctoral supervisor at the Law School of the University of International Business and Economics, delivering the opening speech. He stated that the original intention of "Siyuan Law Friends Talk" was to promote connections and exchanges among alumni from various fields of the law school, but in the future, it should become a platform that can provide professional legal knowledge popularization and consulting services for alumni in Beijing, and sincerely call on more alumni to actively share their expertise and experience in their respective fields.

The first sharing theme of the event is "Legal Risk Analysis and Suggestions for Enterprises Going Global to Southeast Asia", shared by Jason Lan, a 2016 master's alumnus of Kaiyuan Law School and partner of Shen Hao Law Firm. Jason Lan first starts with the driving forces of enterprises going global and the trend of going global in 2025, analyzes the advantages and challenges of the Southeast Asian market, and finally provides recommendations for going global. Jason Lan emphasized that Southeast Asia has become the preferred testing ground for going global due to its demographic dividend, economic vitality, and policy dividends. However, companies need to face systemic risks such as compliance, culture, and talent, and build brand power and scenario advantages in vertical fields through a full chain localization strategy (not simply copying domestic models). Going out to sea is essentially a competition of comprehensive strength, and those who blindly follow the trend will eventually be eliminated. 'Going out to sea is an arena for the strong, not a refuge for the weak'.

The second sharing theme of the event is "Compliance Challenges and Response Strategies of AI Application Going Global from Recent Hot Cases". The sharer is Zhong Junpeng, a 2010 undergraduate student, a 2013 Master of Law from Peking University, and a non equity partner at Beijing Zhonglun Law Firm. Zhong Junpeng analyzed the regulatory hot issues encountered by Chinese apps (including AI applications) going global in recent years, examined the policy considerations and compliance points behind them, shared the challenges of AI application going global from multiple aspects such as business, technology, and legal compliance, and provided strategic recommendations. Zhong Junpeng pointed out that for Chinese apps (especially AI applications) to enter overseas markets, the first step is to systematically consider "where they come from" (location of enterprises, personnel, supply chain sources, sources of start-up funds, etc.) and "where they go" (target market, potential listing location), identify core risk factors, make strategic layout and architecture design in advance, and gradually carry out daily compliance work in order to achieve stability and long-term success in the current complex and challenging overseas regulatory environment.

The third sharing theme of the event is "Criminal Law Around Us: How Far Ordinary People are Away from Crime", shared by Feng Chengcheng, a 2009 Master of Law from Kaiyuan Law School and Senior Partner of Beijing Gaopeng Law Firm. Alumni Feng Chengcheng provided a vivid and easy to understand interpretation of the boundaries between illegal and criminal offenses such as dangerous driving, high-altitude throwing, assaulting police officers, and obstructing official duties, based on the criminal cases he personally handled. In addition to the criminal risks involved in daily life, alumnus Feng Chengcheng specifically warns of criminal traps in business scenarios, and extends the sentencing standards for both state and non-state personnel for bribery crimes. Finally, it also exposed the legal risks of lending securities accounts through two cases of manipulating the securities market on the New Third Board. If the borrower manipulates stock prices/insider trading, the lender is at risk of being identified as an accomplice. So, the red line of criminal law is not out of reach, it is hidden in daily work and life, and we need to be highly vigilant about crossing it unconsciously.

Alumni engaged in lively discussions on each shared topic, and the tea break was particularly interactive.

This event attracted nearly 40 alumni to attend, covering fields such as legal compliance, financial investment banking, government, healthcare, and technology. Since its inception, the Siyuan Law Talk event aims to deepen alumni relationships, explore the forefront of legal practice, continue the legal tradition of Jiao Tong University, promote cross industry exchanges, and help alumni in Beijing grow and develop.
