On April 30, 2025, Lawyer Chen Wenying and Lawyer Wu Ailing from Gaopeng Law Firm were invited to conduct a special course on "Legal Negotiation Skills and Practice in Civil and Commercial Dispute Cases" for the faculty and students of the Law School of the University of International Business and Economics. The course focuses on legal negotiation in civil and commercial dispute cases, aiming to share rich practical experience and help law students improve their practical abilities.

At the beginning of the course, Lawyer Chen Wenying deeply analyzed the essential differences between legal negotiation and ordinary negotiation, explained the key elements of legal negotiation, and introduced practical tools such as BATNA (Best Alternative Solution) and anchoring effect. To help teachers and students understand legal negotiations from a practical perspective, Lawyer Chen Wenying carefully selected three typical cases: the "layoff dispute of a foreign enterprise", the "gambling arbitration case", and the "illegal securities and futures reporting and complaint case". She provided a detailed explanation of the case background, judgment process, and arbitration points, allowing everyone to clearly understand the necessary elements for a successful legal negotiation. She summarized legal negotiations as an organic combination of legal bottom lines, psychological games, and creative settlement solutions.



Lawyer Wu Ailing

In the latter half of the course, Lawyer Wu Ailing shared her own real cases on the topic of "Negotiation Analysis in Divorce and Inheritance Dispute Handling: Legal Wisdom and Communication Art". Discuss with the teachers and students present the negotiation analysis in the process of handling divorce and inheritance disputes. She combined her own real-life cases and, following the timeline, delved into the negotiation points in the process of handling divorce and inheritance disputes from four key parts: "grasping the essence of disputes," "preparation before negotiations," "negotiation strategies and skills," and "follow-up after negotiations. She emphasized that negotiation in divorce and inheritance dispute resolution is not only a competition of legal skills, but also a game of human wisdom. She hopes that everyone can not only adhere to the legal bottom line, but also flexibly use negotiation skills to become a true guardian of the law.

The teachers and students of the Law School of the University of International Business and Economics have expressed that the course content is closely related to the forefront of legal practice and has extremely important guiding significance for using legal negotiation skills to resolve legal disputes in practical work in the future.
