On the afternoon of August 28, 2025, the "First Excellent Criminal Prosecutor Assistant Business Competition" of the First Branch of the Beijing Municipal People's Procuratorate was successfully held. Considering the fruitful work achievements and participation experience of our senior partner, Lawyer Dong Xiaohua, in the criminal prosecution positions at the Beijing and district levels for 18 years, we have been invited to serve as a judge for this competition. The other two members of the judging panel for this competition are Professor Ruan Qilin from China University of Political Science and Law and Vice Dean Zhou Hongbo from the National Prosecutor's College.

The competition adopts the method of prosecution defense debate, where 6 groups of contestants engage in free debate on typical case topics adapted from judicial practice, showcasing a comprehensive competition of "theoretical foundation+legal application+language expression+on-site adaptation". Lawyer Dong Xiaohua has previously been awarded the "Top Ten Prosecutors" and "Outstanding Debater" awards by the Beijing Procuratorate twice. He deeply empathizes with this competition and has sufficient voice and unique insights. She combined her more than 20 years of work achievements and experience to provide professional and in-depth comments on the performance of the contestants from multiple dimensions such as factual induction ability, theoretical application depth, rigorous construction of argumentation logic, and application of argumentation skills, and put forward precise suggestions for shortcomings.

After fierce competition and rigorous evaluation, 6 "Outstanding Criminal Prosecutor Assistants" were finally selected, as well as 1 "Best Defense Award", 1 "Best Document Award", 1 "Best Criminal Prosecutor Strategy Award", and 1 "Best Debate Award". The hospital leaders awarded honorary certificates to the award-winning contestants.

This competition is not only a "training ground" for testing abilities, but also a "growth camp" for talent accumulation and empowerment. Through "promoting learning and enhancing abilities through competition", it effectively stimulates the enthusiasm of criminal prosecutors to study and improve their skills, and injects new momentum and strength into the selection of "Top Ten Prosecutors" in Beijing and even nationwide.

Lawyer Dong Xiaohua is a Ph.D. in Criminal Law and has been deeply involved in criminal legal practice for more than 20 years. Not only has he gained profound knowledge, but he also has rich practical experience. He has been invited to participate in such competitions organized by renowned universities and judicial institutions multiple times. Lawyer Dong stated that in the future, he will continue to care for and support the collaborative construction of "government industry university research" in the field of law, and contribute his modest efforts to the construction of the rule of law and talent selection and training in the new era.
